In my personal experience I was accused of picking up my son late and being charged late fees. In reality, he was picked up on time. When I asked for records or documentation to support the accusation, it was not provided. They will not resolve conflict or issues. Their solution is: if there are problems, it's better to separate the child from the program than to find resolution. When my son would have a tough day and it was reported that he had a "behavioral" problem I was constantly threatened by the staff that he would be "kicked out of the program" if it continued. In reality, my son had more better days than not. On the days that he struggled it was always the same staff member that had the issues. Also, keep in mind he was a child adjusting to all day Kindergarten. That can be a struggle for any child! I attempted to work with the staff and offer suggestions that work during the school day to carry over, not one of the staff would take the initiative to support those interventions. A simple behavior journal documenting his good and bad behaviors was asking too much. It was much easier to threaten to remove him from the program. As an after school child care provider you would expect policies and procedure to be clear and up front, healthy communication, and the ability to interact meaningfully with children and parents!
In the 16 years that I have used child care services, never in that time have I seen an organization operate such as Trinity's after school program. If there is a problem or an issue they will meet behind closed doors and decide to terminate your child from their program without your knowledge. Don't be surprised to find a letter in the mail stating your child can't come attend anymore, please feel free to discuss this. As a parent you try to find resolution and attempt to discuss the problem to only hear a board member hide behind the cloak of being a private institution. Also, you will be advised that the decision was made and it won't be reversed.
